( Acording to the Provisions of Ayurveda Act No. 31 of 1961)

Private Institutions of Ayurvedic medical Services

Exclusively for Registered Ayurvedic Medical Practitioners

All Registered Ayurvedic Medical Practitioners are nortified that the Medical Institutions attached to their private practice including Hospitals, Dispensaries, Medical Centres, Treatment Centres, Diagnostic Laboratories etc. shall register at the Department of Ayurveda.

Private Institutions of Allied Ayurvedic Services

All persons who own and operate the Institutions under the name of "Ayurveda" attached to any sector or any field for commercial purposes are notified that such institutions shall register at the Department of Ayurveda.

Applications and details related to the registration could be obtained free of charge by visiting or sending a letter which indicates the full name, photocopy of National Identity Card and the Ayurvedic Medical Council registration along with a self addressed and stamped envelop to the Commissioner, Department of Ayurveda, Old Kottawa Rd, Nawinna, Maharagama.

Term"Ayurveda" includes the Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani and Desiya Chikista systems of medicine and surgery and any other sysytem of medicine indigenous to Asian countries and recognized as such by their respective Governments and the expression "ayurvedic" shall be construed accordingly; (Ayurveda Act No. 31 of 1961)
